Welcome to Rawlins Municipal Library

In 1905, the Carnegie Library opened as Pierre, South Dakota’s first public library. This location remained open until 1972 when operations moved to a new building, Rawlins Municipal Library, located at 1000 E Church Street. For 117 years, Pierre’s public library has been committed to their patrons with friendly and knowledgeable librarians.
